Alito sworn in as Supreme Court Justice!

Click on the title link to read about this exciting news! Praise the Lord! Thanks to all of you who prayed for this to happen! Let's keep praying, for God to move in our courts, for the eventual overturn of Roe v. Wade.

In related news, my roommate Ron and I watched President George W. Bush gave his State of the Union address tonight. We need to lift up President Bush to the Lord in prayer on a continual basis, so that he can be the leader that God appointed him to be for this country. Keep him and lead him, Lord, Amen!

Playing football with prayer people

Yesterday afternoon I played football with the ZHOP (Zadok House of Prayer) people who have moved here to Fort Mill, SC, from Kansas City, as fulltime intercessors (prayer warriors). This was the most anointed group of people I've ever played football with. No doubt that some of the players on the field that day will go on to become major apostolic leaders in the church in days to come. I felt honored. It would be a great story to tell my kids in the future.

The leader, Michael, had wanted to exercise to get in better shape, so he gathered a bunch of his friends for a round of American football. Though we were only playing flag football (not tackling), it was still pretty physical out there, as it is the nature of the game. On more than one occasion I knocked one of the more anointed worship leader in the House of Prayer to the ground to break up a pass. If that person had gotten hurt, than I would had committed a grievious sin! Thank God that no one was injured.

I played an OK game, with several good defensive plays, a touchdown catch, 2 touchdown passes, and an interception. Our team lost by a score, but we are not ashamed of it, since we had one less player on our team than our opposition. It was a good day of exercise.

Go God! and ZHOP night watch

Last night was pretty eventful for me. We had a tremendous "Go God!" worship and prayer session at Resurrection church that lasted over 2.5 hours. I haven't ministered on my violin that long in a while. The Lord really showed out and people were bursting with spontaneous praise and prayer to Him! Thank God that He gave me the grace and strength to play through the entire setting, to allow the Holy Spirit to sing and prophesy through the instrument. It was fun again to play with Pat, our excellent Harmonica player. I gave him and his wife a copy of my worship CD.

After the conclusion of "Go God!" I drove back home to Fort Mill, and then went over to the ZHOP (Zadok House of Prayer) Base nearby (5 minutes away), to check out their night watch. The ZHOP teams have been ministering to the Lord in the night for the past several weeks now, and it was the first time I got to be there during the late night hours. I entered the prayer room around 12 midnight, and stayed until a bit after 1 am. It was a good time to soak and enjoy the Lord, just sitting still quietly on the side, meditating on Jesus. It was a fitting end to a good day.

January Newsletter is here!

Just click on the link above to read it.

Last night, a friend and I went up to the Fire School in Concord, NC to attend their Thursday night service. They have wonderful, powerful worship and preaching up there. Because I now live in South Carolina, it is taking me a little bit longer to drive up there, but it is well-worth the drive. After we got there, we found out that Robin McMillan, a pastor from my church was the guest speaker that night, so it felt pretty strange to hear him preach to the Fire School students there, because we hear him all the time here at MorningStar. But Robin did preach an excellent message, and all of us were blessed by it.

Tonight, the Los Angeles Lakers professional basketball team is playing the Golden State Warrior (based in Oakland, CA). People will be watching to see if superstar Kobe Bryant can score anywhere close to his 81 points that he against the Toronto Raptors. Personally, I don't think he will score many points tonight at all. As a basketball player myself, I know how hard it is to maintain a rhythm where all your shots are falling into the basket, especially in a real game.

John Bevere coming to Charlotte March 3rd

Renown Christian author and teacher/speaker John Bevere is coming to speak at the World Worship Center at 3 pm on March 3rd, 2006. I've read many of his excellent books, including "The Bait of Satan," "Under Cover," "A Heart Ablazed," and "The Fear of the Lord," but I've never heard him preach before. So I am excited about his coming and looking forward to hearing him deliver the word of God.

Kobe scores 81!

Kobe Bryant, an American professional basketball player on the Los Angeles Lakers team of the National Basketball Association (NBA), scored the 2nd highest point total in a single game, 81 points, this past Sunday against the Toronto Raptors. You can check out a video clip of the highlights of that game at www.nba.com

On another note, I have just posted new full-length audio tracks at the worship page! You can listen and download the mp3s as well. Enjoy!

Minesweeper and Pinball

When I was in high school, one of my favorite computer game was Minesweeper. It is this simple logic game on every Microsoft Windows, and they came in 3 levels: beginner, advance, and expert. My brother and I used to play this game to challenge our mental capacities, and to compete against one another, to see who can finish the game in the shortest amount of time. Over time, even the expert level became too easy for us, so we customized our own level and made it much harder for ourselves. Even now, I still consider myself as one of the top Minesweeper player in the world! =)

Now, I mainly play Pinball on my laptop to relax my mind. Sometimes I get too intense doing ministry and I need some diversion. Pinball is good for me in that it is a game where you can never "win." You can just try to get the highest score, but you will still "lose" in the end, when the ball drops between the 2 "sticks." I am also quite good at this game, and I have never seen another person get a higher score than me, so I am probably the world champion at this game also!

Now I have to go and repent for my pride.

Seattle vs. Carolina

It is interesting that the Seattle Seahawks professional football team is playing the Carolina (Charlotte) Panthers this upcoming Sunday evening for an important playoff game. Whoever wins goes to the Super Bowl (the championship game of the NFL, National Football League). This game is particularly interesting to me since I live in the Carolinas (Fort Mill, SC, a suburb of Charlotte), and I just returned from Seattle earlier this week. I know my cousin and friends there will be rooting for the Seahawks.

The Panthers have been to the Super Bowl two years ago, and so it is nothing new for them to be in a big game like this. Plus, they are a pretty good team, so they are confident. On the other hand, the Seahawks have never been this deep in the playoffs, so even as they are playing at home, they are probably going to be a little bit more nervous at the beginning of the game. The Panthers have a strong defense, so I expect them to neutralize Seattle's attack. Hopefully Carolina will have enough offensive firepower to score regularly on the Seahawks defense. We will see what happens. I'm not going to prophesy or guarantee any victory. God knows who will win.

Back in South Carolina

I got in yesterday morning after 9 am. I actually got in a couple of sleep on the plane between Seattle and Chicago, and between Chicago and Charlotte. My friend Reggie picked me up from the airport, and we drove to his house to pick up my car.
after almost 2 weeks of continual rain in Seattle and Vancouver, I was glad to be back in a place where it doesn't rain as often. However, it did rain last night.
I attended the Harp & Bowl prayer meeting at the new ZHOP base last night, and saw a few of my friends there. They welcomed me back and asked me about my trip. I was glad to give away several copies of the worship cd I made near Seattle!
Today, the sun is out! I have lots of things I need to do, but the most important thing is to rest. My housemate Ron had recorded the Carolina Panthers football playoff games on video cassettes, so I am planning to watch a bit, to savor the victories that I didn't get to see while in Vancouver.
We finally got a house phone here, so I don't have to rely on my mobile phone all the time, but I don't know the house number yet.
My cousin Florence and her husband Henry are planning to come down here for the MorningStar Kingdom Leadership conference in early February. I am excited that they are coming!
Praise God for a beautiful day!

Back in Seattle, good times

Last night I came back to Seattle from Vancouver with my cousin Florence and her husband Henry. The past 2 days I had a wonderful time working with the youth of Vision Team Church up there. I gave each youth a copy of the worship cd that I just made. They were all very excited to receive the gift.

I also had a chance to meet up with my dad and spend some good family time together. And I was able to hangout with my friend Esther, who is studying around there. I ate tons of great Asian food the last several days. Overall, it was a very fruitful time. Praise God! Hopefully, I'll be posting some pictures of the trip here soon. Stay tuned.

I'll be getting ready to fly back to Charlotte at 11:59 pm tonight. You can pray for me to have safe flight.

Happy Martin Luther King's day.

My Chinese worship song "Secrets"

(4 times)

Seattle to Vancouver

Last Saturday, I got to spend time with my college friend Alex, who is attending grad school in Seattle. I haven't seen him in over a year and it was good to catch up and have good, lively, interesting conversations. I also got to spend quality time with my cousin Florence, and we drove up here to Vancouver yesterday in a rental Ford Mustang!

So I'm here in Vancouver now, and I've just met up with my dad last night, who flew here from LA.
My plan today is to meet up with my friend Esther Wu, who is a worship leader on piano/keyboard. It is funny that I actually know 2 "Esther Wu"s who are worship leaders on piano/keyboard (the other one lives in the Bay Area in California, she is a youth pastor for a Vineyard church there). We plan to do some worship practice today at the youth room in the church. Pray for us that we would be able to flow well together and be able to minister with anointing to the youth this weekend.

More about my worship cds. We titled the instrumental cd "My Offering." The live worship cd is called "Present."

Safe arrival: prophetic revelation!

As my plane touches down in Dallas-Fort Worth yesterday, in the midstop on the way to Seattle. I heard a familiar message over the aircraft speakers: "Folks, we've arrived a few minutes early, but unfortunately, our gate is not ready yet, we'll have to wait a couple more minutes here on the runway before we can dock the plane."
It was about the fifth or sixth time that this exact situation happened on my flights this past year. I began to feel a bit frustrated, but suddenly, my prophetic brain kicks in, "Maybe God is trying to speak something to me through this!?"
Then it dawned on me, and I heard the voice of the Lord speaking in my mind, "The gates are not ready for me." The revelation came, Psalm 24, "Lift up your heads, O you gates...and let the King of glory come in!" It was interesting, since I have just started listening to a new cd, Scott Brenner's King of Glory, on that same day! My heart understood His heart, how Christ longed for his church, his people, his "gates" to be ready for Him! The plane, which came down from the sky (Heaven) was trying to connect to the gate, but the gate was not prepared, the gate was not in position to receive! The Lord has been speaking this to me on every flying trip that I took, in 2005, and only now have I understood it!
So many times in church we have this attitude that we are waiting for God to move, for God to birth the revival. But we fail to realize that the King of glory has already landed! the King has already arrived from the sky, and He is knocking at our gates. Can we just be ready, and lift up our heads, to receive Him?
It is no coincidence that Chris Tomlin's worship cd in 2005 was called "Arriving," which shows an airplane runway, and there is a track on the cd called "King of Glory."
O Lord, let us repent of our failure to be ready, to prepare the gates. Let us be ready, let your bride make herself ready!

So later that night I arrived safely in Seattle, and my cousin Florence and her husband Henry picked me up, and took me to a nice Chinese restaurant for a midnight meal.

Heading to Seattle Friday

I'll be flying off to Seattle this Friday, arriving there at night, and my cousin Florence will pick me up from the airport. This will be the start of my time in the Pacific Northwest for over a week. In addition to ministering, I am also planning on going night skiing with my college friend Alex at Crystal Mountain. It will be a fun time. However, my mom is not planning to come with my dad up there because she is sick. Please pray for her to get well. Thanks!

On another note, I just got my new South Carolina driver's license today at the Rock Hill DMV. Praise the Lord! Dear Jesus, thank you for filling me with abundant joy and life!
There is no one like You!
