Pindong trip a success!

Thanks to all who prayed for me for the Pindong trip. We did minister to quite a large number of youth (the whole school, in fact), and deliver the message of the gospel. I played the violin and sang a worship song on guitar too. And I spoke to the youth about the love of God for about 20 minutes. The youth were all really attentive to the word and seeds of the Kingdom were planted in their hearts. Minister Linda and her daughter also ministered to them as well. Afterwards the principal invited us to her office and thanked us for coming, and invited us back again in Winter. Praise the Lord!
Now I am in Tainan at my cousin Lintien's church, getting some rest and hanging out here with church folks. God is good.

Successful ministry past 2 days

Last Saturday I spoke at a school around Taichung to elementary and middle school youth. It was part of a Christian ministry team that hosts events for them every weekend. I got to play some hymns on the violin and sing one of my new Chinese worship songs on guitar. And I shared with them about how God called me to ministry and on developing a friendship with Jesus. I thank God for empowering me, and the youth responded well. Praise the Lord!
The next day we went to minister at a local church of the indigenous tribes of Taiwan. They are more lively than your average Taiwanese church. Their worship was passionate and heartfelt. Once again, I got to play both guitar and violin and share with them for about 30 minutes about my life, ministry, and worship. It was another powerful experience for me. God came through and blessed the people. Praise God!
Tomorrow we will be traveling south to minister to another school. Click on "PrayStation" to read my full prayer request for this big event tomorrow.

transfer in Hong Kong

Right now I'm online wirelessly at HK International Airport, on the way from Xi'an to Shanghai to Hong Kong to Taipei, all in one day. I've been traveling since 5:30 am this morning, and I won't arrive in Taipei until after 10 pm at night.
My parents and friends and I went to Xi'an a couple days ago to tour around one of the oldest and most significant city in China. Xi'an's roots go back 5,000 years, and it was the capital city for 13 dynasties. Many old emperors' tombs are still around there. We also did some mountain climbing up HuaShan, which is one of the five most famous (beautiful) mountains in China. The views were gorgeous. I will post some pics later.
It has been a wonderful trip so far. My brother's wedding was excellent. I got to meet many old friends and relatives there too. He and his bride Julia are now honeymooning in Venice, Italy. My parents are still in Xi'an and will be in Beijing soon. I will be spending about 2 weeks in Taiwan before heading down for another 2 weeks in the Philippines. Things are getting exciting. Hopefully I will have more internet access in Taiwan and I will blog more when I get the chance.

Shanghai: 1 day until wedding

Last night we had a bachelor party for my brother, Gideon, the groom. It was a good time with all of his friends from college and work. Things are moving along with the preparation for tomorrow. We played some good basketball yesterday, and will be doing wedding rehearsal tonight. After the wedding, my brother and his bride, Julia, will be heading to Italy for the honeymoon. I will be in Taiwan by the end of next week.

in LA, China on Tues

I've been in LA for a few days now. Very good time spend and very fruitful too. I ministered to a few youths from my dad's church on Friday night, and spoke about an hour on Sunday to the main congregation. We had a powerful ministry time as the Holy Spirit was present and working mightily.
On Thursday, I had my first painting lesson from my cousin Winnie, who is a professional artist and art teacher. I got to paint my first oil pastel work. It's pretty. I'll probably take a digital picture of it and post it up here later.
Today I'll have some friends coming over for my birthday party. Hopefully it will be a good time.
On another note, check out the link below, as it is a court-ordered "apology" by a little boy who was arrested for bringing water to Terri Schiavo. It is very touching.
