Great weekend at Battle Cry conference

This past weekend we went up to DC on a super-short trip to attend the Battle Cry youth leadership conference headed by Ron Luce (founder and director of Teen Mania, www.teenmania.com). It was an urgent call to all the youth pastors/leaders/volunteers in the region to pray and seek the Lord for a new strategy to and save the youth of America. You can click on the title link to access the Battle Cry website.
The upcoming generation in this nation is becoming more and more secular. There must be a wake-up call to the churches throughout the land, for them to set their youth ministry as the number one priority, because if we don't reach the youth now, our nation will steer away from God in the next decade.
We had several powerful speakers at the conference, including Ted Haggard and Tim Johnson, a former professional football player for the Washington Redskins. Michael Gungor led worship. Each one brought a different focus and perspective to the table, and we received good teaching and equipping. Ted even gave away free books! It was a powerful time for all of us.

This week

On Sunday night, I will be going to a Derek Webb/Sandra McCracken Christian folk rock music concert. Derek and Sandra are actually a husband-and-wife team, but you wouldn't know it by looking at their different last names. I think Sandra should just be like everyone else and change her last name to Webb. I guess they're afraid that she would lose her fan base if she changes her name, that people wouldn't recognize her. Still, I think Webb sounds a lot better than McCracken.

By the way, I've completed Part 4 of my East Asia Mission Trip Report. It is the final installment of my time in the Philippines last month. Just click on the link to your right to access it.

Lastly, I've added new links at the Worship Page. Go there and check it out!

Pictures of Indonesia & South Africa

My friend Vivian, who has been working in Indonesia for past months, has an online photo album which gives a good overview of what it is like over there. Click here to access the Indonesia pictures.
In addition to working in Southeast Asia, she had the opportunity to also travel to South Africa. Click here for her South Africa photo album.

Today, in professional American football, the Carolina Panthers (our home team) plays the New York Jets. The Panthers are doing pretty well this year, as they are currently tied for first place with our archrival, the Atlanta Falcons, in our division. We have a pretty good chance of going to the Super Bowl, the championship game, if it is the Lord's will. Go Panthers!

The Cardboard Box!

The cardboard box has just been added to the National Toy Hall of Fame this past Friday. Click on the title link to read this fascinating news article!

Last night, we had a worship/prayer meeting at Resurrection church. Bethany Leimer led worship on the guitar with her older brother Greg Leimer. Her dad, Rollo Leimer, is the pastor of the church. I accompanied on the violin. It was a bit difficult at first, as we had a hard time worshipping on our instruments in the beginning. After pressing in for a while, we finally had a sense of release in the spirit, and we were able to flow much better later on. Just another night of warfare; I'm glad it's not like this everytime.

On another note, I've added new links at ResourCentral and the Worship Page. God there and check them out!

Meeting with Kirk Bennett

Last night we gathered at the Cause base in Fort Mill and met up with Kirk Bennett and his team who are moving here from Kansas City, MO. Kirk is on the senior leadership team of the International House of Prayer in KC, and he and his family are moving here to birth a 24/7 house of prayer here, praise the Lord!
Kirk shared with us how the Lord led him here, to join forces with Greg Burnett (Charlotte House of Prayer) and Chuck Mervin (The Cause USA) in this endeavor. Us local Charlottians gave him a warm welcome and prayed and blessed him and his team. We already have the facility for the prayer house, but it just need to be restored. Please pray for the full restoration of this building unto God's glory, and that He will draw all men unto Him, to be priests ministering in His presence, day and night.

Bob Jones sighting

Last night, while we were engaging in a beautiful worship set at the Cause base in Fort Mills, Bob Jones and 2 other friends walked into the room and sat down. If you don't know, Bob is one of the most respected prophet in the Body of Christ. He is like a grandfather in the Spirit. He worshipped with us for a while, then left with the 2 friends. It was cool to see him and have him here. God is definitely getting the word out about Tues night meetings.

On another note, I've added new postings at the Worship Page, and the PrayStation Page, which includes a prophetic word about France. Go there and read about it!

Went to John Scotland meeting

Went to a John Scotland meeting today with my new housemate Allen at this little Spanish church 10 minutes away from our house. John is from England and they had to translate for him into Spanish for all the Hispanic believers there. It was a powerful, and wonderful meeting. John carries a strong "new wine" anointing of the Lord, which will offend religious people. He is always likely to burst out into songs to illustrate his point. It was a good time in the Lord. John also prophesied over the city of Charlotte, and I believe that the Lord is indeed on the move in this town. Praise the Lord!
You can check out his ministry website by clicking on the title link.

I've added new links at the Resource and Worship Pages. Go there and check it out!
By the way, this is my 200th post at the Light Amp! Yay!

Youth riots in France

Click on the title link to read this news article. It is not a total surprise that this is happening over there since they've pretty much outlawed God from their society. But we need to pray for them, for the youth, for the softening of their hearts towards the gospel, for the salvation and restoration of France.

On another note, I've added a lots of new links at the Worship Page, and a new prayer request at PrayStation. Go there!
