Regional Worship with Elisha's Request!

Last night I had the opportunity to take the ferry across Puget Sound to Port Orchard, to attend a powerful worship event led by "Elisha's Request," a prophetic family worship band!
During the evening, the band played a couple MorningStar songs, "Open Wide" and "How He Loves," and it made me feel like I was back at my old church in Fort Mill, South Carolina!
It was a tremendous time of worship overall, and I got to meet members of the family band afterwards. Praise the Lord, for He is doing wonderful things in the region! You can click on the title link to access their website.

100 year church building celebration!

Here is the details on this significant event tomorrow, at my church, the Seattle Vineyard:

***************************
Celebrating 100 Years
in the University District
Join us on Sun, April 29, from 12:30-3:00 pm to celebrate
our building's 100th year.

There will be a short program of rededication from 1:30-2:00 pm.

On April 28th, 1907, the congregation of the University Methodist Episcopal Church dedicated their new sanctuary at the corner of NE 42nd Street and Brooklyn Avenue NE. For 100 years the building at 42nd and Brooklyn has been a landmark in the neighborhood. On Sunday, April 29th, 2007, we will host a catered open house to celebrate its centennial. There will be a short program from 1:30 - 2:00 pm to recount the story of this place and to provide an opportunity to rededicate ourselves and this place to the continuing worship, witness, and work of God from this corner.

Micah 2:13

The one who breaks open will come up before them;

They will break out,

Pass through the gate,

And go out by it;

Their king will pass before them,

With the LORD at their head.

Deadliest shooting in US at Virginia Tech

Lord, I pray for the healing for the families and friends of the victims, the family and friends of the suspect, and for the students, faculty, and administration of Virginia Tech. I also pray for the healing and restoration of America, in Jesus' name. Amen.

International Christian Fellowship

Last night, I had the opportunity to visit the International Christian Fellowship house near the University of Washington campus. I.C.F. is a ministry that ministers to international students, and they have an open meeting every Friday night, which includes a free dinner, worship, testimony, teaching, Bible discussion, and fellowship. I got to meet some people from Taiwan, Korea, China, Japan, and an American who was raised in Cameroon, Africa. I also met up with Daniel and Julene, a couple whom I know from the Vineyard Church. It's a wonderful mix of people, and many are there seeking the Lord. Praise God!

in transition

Yesterday I started the process of moving into a temporary housing situation, at my parents' friend's place, also in Bellevue, WA. They welcomed me to stay with them in the meantime, as I search for a more permanent place to live. So, as of now, I am packing and cleaning up all my stuff from my cousin Florence's house, and taking them to the new place. It's a bittersweet farewell to my room in Florence's house, but it's exciting to be on the move, and to see what God has in store for me in the near future. I look forward to God's perfect provision, and I trust in Him in the midst of uncertainty. God is good, all the time!

Reggie and team in the Philippines!

My friends Reggie and Debbie Hill from Charlotte, North Carolina, are leading a missions team in the Philippines right now! (My friend Ashley Pell is also on the team. She's a seasoned Philippines missionary) They will be there for more than 2 weeks, doing ministry with my friends Pastor Robin, David Mayyam, and Rod Domingo. Their trip includes hiking into a remote village in the mountains, to minister to the inhabitants there. Please pray for them! Thanks.

Soweto Gospel Choir

Last Sunday I had the privilege to go see the Soweto Gospel Choir, from South Africa, perform a worship concert at Paramount Theater in downtown Seattle. The Soweto Gospel Choir have won Grammy's for being the best international choir in the world, and they did not disappoint! At the end of the concert, people (both Christians and pre-Christians alike) were on their feet, cheering and clapping for the choir, in awe of the amazing talent and the incredible musical abilities of the group. Praise God for this choir, as they are a testimony and a blessing to the world! To learn more about the Soweto Gospel Choir, just click on the title link and go to their website!

Kari's passing

I just found out a couple days ago from my friend Catherine in Charlotte, NC, that our friend, Kari, who goes to MorningStar church, suddenly passed away last Friday night. It was a big shock to me. My heart goes out to Kari's family and friends, and her husband Joseph. May the Lord comfort them and be with them during this time of sorrow and grief. We don't know why the Lord took her home, but we know that she is home, and she is alive and happy where she is, with Jesus.

Pray for Art Katz's health

Based in Minnesota, Art is another one of the heroes of the faith that I greatly respect. His teachings on "apostolic foundations" have tremendously shaped my perspective of the church and the kingdom of God. Right now, Art is dealing with some health problems, and we can pray for his complete healing and restoration of health. Just click on the title link above and it will take you to his health updates on his ministry website, www.benisrael.org
