Grand Re-opening of the Upper Room!

Last Sunday, I attended the grand re-opening of the prayer facility known as the "Upper Room." This venue was built years ago by Jim Bakker, and now the Coulstons (of Flames of Fire ministry) has restored and renovated it for public use. It is a beautiful, peaceful place to pray, worship, and meet with God. Praise the Lord!

Spain & Argentina

The soccer teams from these 2 countries are the ones I'm rooting for to win the World Cup this year. I've yet to see Brazil and Germany play. I've heard that Germany is looking very good. Though I don't normally watch soccer, I like offensive soccer (where they try to score as many goals as possible).

On another note, I've just updated my Calendar, so you can see the things I'll be doing in the coming months!

We are the Champions!

The Carolina Hurricanes hockey team won the Stanley Cup Monday night! It was game 7, the final and deciding game against the Edmonton Oilers. We beat them convincingly 3-1. This victory brought home the first professional sports championship in the history of the Carolinas. Thank you, 'Canes!

Wonderful John Scotland meeting last Monday

This past Monday night, my housemate Allen and I attended a small John Scotland meeting in a house nearby. It was one of the best small-group meeting I've ever been to. There was great joy and the presence of the Holy Spirit. If you have never been to a John Scotland meeting, or heard him speak before, you definitely need to check him out! (visit www.johnscotland.org to see if he is coming to your region)

I first attended a John Scotland meeting last year in a Hispanic church in Charlotte. John Scotland, from Liverpool, is one of the most unique minister in the Body of Christ. This time around, by the end of the meeting, we were all drunk in the Holy Spirit, and filled with much laughter. There was a refreshing sense of freedom and liberty in the Lord. Praise God!

Great Harp and Bowl session tonight

I had the privilege of leading worship for a Harp & Bowl set at ZHOP tonight. I got to lead on guitar and vocals and do a intimate, devotional set for 2 hours. If was fun, and the worship was great! I got to do several of my own songs, including "Greatest Revelation," "Rest," and "Deepest Desire." Praise God!

Moving to Seattle in August!

That's right, I am planning to move to Seattle, Washington in early August. You can read a bit more about this future relocation in my newsletter. This also means that I will be driving my car across the country with my stuff. Quite a journey, but quite exciting, too! If any of you want to go on this road trip with me and help me drive, let me know, and we'll work out the details. On the left is a picture of the Seattle skyline with the famous Space Needle tower.

Remembering Tracy Ross

Last night, I went to Tracy's funeral at MorningStar Fellowship. He passed away this Monday. Tracy was a member of a homegroup I attended from time to time on Thursday nights. He was 57 and is survived by his wife Cathy. Ryan Reiter, the leader of the homegroup, led the service, and we sang a few worship songs as well, knowing that Tracy's watching us down here from Heaven. It was a very emotional time, and I was glad to be a part of it.
Though I didn't know Tracy all that well, I will always remember him. The first time I came to the homegroup, I didn't know anybody there, and Tracy took the initiative to pray for me. I felt the love and warmth from this man, and I was blessed by his ministry. I know I am only one of many that was touched by his life in Christ. May his legacy lives on.

Carolina Hurricanes in Stanley Cup Finals!

Guess what? North Carolina actually has a NHL professional hockey team based in Raleigh. They are called the Hurricanes, and they have made it to the championship round with the Edmonton Oilers. The Hurricanes has already won game 1 of the best-of-7 series. We are hoping that they will win the next 3 games and bring home the Stanley Cup!

Holy Spirit conference

This weekend is MorningStar's Holy Spirit conference, purposely scheduled to coincide with Pentecost this year. My friend Clara and her church group from Hong Kong have come out here to attend the conference, and it's great to meet them! Hopefully Clara and her gang will meet the Lord in a powerful way here, and have an experience of a lifetime.
