Next Thurs: Light Amp 2 year anniversary!

October 10th, 2004 was the date when I left my job at the Mecklenburg County Social Services and entered into fulltime ministry. It was something that I'll never forget. Next Thursday I will be celebrating two years in fulltime ministry. These past two years were filled with the wonders and faithfulness of God. He never ceases to amaze me, and He always pulls me through. The Lord is good, and His love endures forever!

Minister Linda and Judy at BOL

Here is a picture of Minister Linda and her daughter Judy (singing), at Bread of Life Seattle church. The Lord really moved on the hearts of the people as they ministered. May God continue to bless their ministry to the nations.

On another note, I've added new photos of Butchart Garden at the Photo Gallery. Just click on the link above to see them.

Visiting Victoria, BC

This past Thursday, my dad took Minister Linda, her daughter Judy, me, and Rachel (a local believer) to beautiful Vancouver Island, after Minister Linda and Judy ministered to a homegroup the previous night. Vancouver Island is ferry-ride away from Vancouver, and we stayed overnight in Victoria, the quaint and lovely capital of British Columbia. We also visited the famous Buchart Garden. I'll post some pictures up later.

Last night, the Holy Spirit moved powerfully at Pastor Qian church, where Minister Linda gave a signature presentation. Many people came up for prayer and received a touch from the Lord. Praise God! Today, my dad and I will be heading back down to Seattle, while Minister Linda and Judy remain here in Vancouver to continue their ministry to the local body. You can keep them in your prayers.

Safe arrival for dad

Minister Linda's meetings in Seattle has been a great success! We have had wonderful responses and reports of the Holy Spirit touching people's hearts and lives. Praise the Lord!

Today, we picked up dad from the airport. He arrived safely from LA via Alaska Airlines. My cousin Florence and her husband Henry took us out to eat at a nice chinese restaurant. It was a pleasant day.

Tomorrow morning, our team (my dad, me, Minister Linda, and her daughter) will be driving up to Vancouver for more ministry action. You can keep us in your prayers.

Hosting Minister Linda & daughter

Minister Linda and her daughter Judy got in safely early Friday afternoon. They were starving because there was no lunch served on their flight. I took them out to Black Angus (since I had some coupons!) and also because they haven't had a taste of American steak since arriving in the States. It was an excellent meal for all of us.
Yesterday we went to visit Mt. Rainier National Park. We had a relaxing time in the cool, fresh air of the Cascade Mountains. Praise the Lord!

Minister Linda speaking at BOL Sunday!

My friends Minister Linda and her daughter are going to be sharing at the main service at Bread of Life Seattle church this Sunday morning. Minister Linda has a special ministry to mentally-challenged and handicapped children. It will be a pleasant treat to hear what she has in store for us in her presentation.

On another note, check out www.fulfillmentfest.com My friends in North Carolina are going to pray it up for 3 weeks straight at Moravian Falls. This is going to be epic! If you are in that part of the US, I would recommend you to go and join the saints!

Dad arrives home safely

My dad flew back safely from China today. He's back home in LA now after a long ministry trip. My mom was with him on parts of the trip. It was good to receive an email from him indicating to us that he's doing fine. Praise the Lord!

This weekend, Minister Linda and her daughter are going to come up to Seattle from LA and stay with us (my cousin, her husband, and me) for 4 days. I'm going to pick them up from the airport. I'll probably take them to Mt. Rainier National Park for a day of sightseeing. It'll be a fun time. I'm looking forward to their arrival.

On Thursday, my cousin Florence and her husband Henry are officially moving into the bigger house where I'm already staying at. It has been a pleasant and wonderful 3-and-a-half week of being in this house alone, with plenty of solitude and soaking in the Lord. I am grateful to the Lord for this opportunity. I'm definitely a bit closer to Jesus than I was before.

Next week, my dad will fly up here to meet up with Minister Linda and her daughter, and they'll be heading north to Vancouver to do some ministry there.

Hearing John Bevere

Today I got a chance to hear John Bevere preach for the first time. As expected, he preached a pretty "heavy" message that was eased into our ears with his easy-going, dynamic preaching style. He has a way of preaching "hard" truth that people can receive without feeling condemned.

Later in the afternoon, I got to check out Jubilee Evangelical Church, in Bellevue. It is a small church but it is actually a branch from the main church out on the "West Side." The people are pretty friendly and I got into a nice conversation with a Korean lady who knew about Rick Joyner and Mahesh Chavda. I'll probably check out the West Side branch sometimes soon.

Mt. Rainier

Here is a picture of Mt. Rainier, a magnificent peak, as viewed from Seattle. Mt. Rainier is located in Mt. Rainier national park, not too far away from the city. It is typically only a couple hours away by car.

Lake Sammamish

This is the picture of one of the lakes that borders the city of Bellevue. Pretty nice, huh! There are parks along the rim of the lake that gives you waterfront and beach access. I live about 5 minutes away from this lake.

The only problem with this lake is, if you need to get to somewhere on the other side of the lake, you have to drive around it. There is no bridge that will take you directly across. Of course, you can always practice walking on water.

Settling down in Bellevue

It has been over 2 weeks now since I first moved here to Bellevue. Last week I got my new Washington State driver's license and license plate. Now I'm in the process of being registered to vote. Click on the title link to read an article on the quality of life in Bellevue. On your left is a picture map of Bellevue. I live in the yellow color part of the town.

Today I played basketball for the first time in over a month. It was good to get back out there on the court. Though I was a bit rusty, I beat a friend 2 straight time in H-O-R-S-E. I guess I still got my jump shot working pretty good.

New Light Amp homepage!

As you probably already found out, I have created a new lightamp.com homepage! It is a much cleaner, navigable page to access all the wonderful resources of Light Amp. Just click on the "Home" link above to see it.

So this page will just become the "News Blog" page, where you can still find me posting updates weekly. I also constructed a new "About Sam" page, which can be access through the "Background" link at the top of this page, or through the new homepage.

This "web-transformation" is certainly the launch of a new season in Light Amp here in the Seattle area. I am looking forward to everything that God has in store. I still have a couple more webpages to upload to the site, the new "values" and "vision" pages. So check back soon to see them.

Tonight I am heading over to "Belltown," a sector of Seattle, to attend the City Church Young Professionals meeting there, to check it out. Tomorrow morning I'll be visiting the youth service of Bread of Life Chinese Church at Bellevue High School. I'll let you know how these meeetings went in the near future.
