Taiwan as a leader nation

Rick Joyner had prophesied over Taiwan years ago that it was a pioneering, leadership nation. It's a gift from the Lord. I was just reading a news article today about a Taiwanese scientist who is doing ground-breaking work in cancer treatment. Click here to read about it.
In other news, refugees from the hurricane is being shuttled from New Orleans' Superdome to Houston's Astrodome for temporary housing. This is interesting as Arthur Burk has mentioned before that there is a synergy between Texas and Louisana. He has a whole teaching about this. To read the news article about this transfer, click here.

Russian family in need!

Dear friends,
there is a Russian couple with baby who have just moved here from Russia to attend the MorningStar school of ministry. However, when they got here, they found out that they couldn't live in the MorningStar dorms at Heritage because they have a baby, so now
they have no place to live, and are running low on finances. They also found out that MorningStar is unable to provide financial aid, so they are in a tight spot right now.
They are temporarily crashing at my friends Reggie and Debbie's house right now, but they need a find a place to live for now. They also need a car and immediate funds to support themselves and the baby. They really need a miracle from the Lord. If you can help these
folks in anyways, or know people who might be able to help them, please contact me by email or phone (704)806-0537 or contact Debbie at debtile@yahoo.com (704)568-7905. and please pray for them!
thanks.

Counting down to China

Next Thursday I will be flying out to Los Angeles, California, and from there onward to Shanghai, China, on the 6th of September. I am getting excited and looking forward to this trip, as I know that I would need to be totally depended on the Lord in every circumstance (not that I don't already depend on him right now). Praise the Lord! Knowing that the Lord will come through for me ahead of time is so reassuring, and it takes all the pressure off of me, as I know that I can do nothing apart from Him.

My birthday is coming up

It's in early September. I won't tell you the exact day. I'll be in LA during that time, before I take off for Shanghai, China for my brother Gid's wedding. If you have read my newsletters and missions prayer letter you can deduce the possible dates which it might be on. Anyways, I have my own wish list for presents, and I won't tell you either. If you have been keeping track with my blog updates for the past couple months you might also be able to deduce what I want. Mysterious!

Back from St. Louis: good wedding

I just got back from St. Louis this afternoon. It was an extremely smooth and quick flight from US Airways (I guess they are making up for the 30-minute delay on the flight there) in which we arrived 20 minutes early. Praise God!
The wedding (the reason for my trip) was great. My college friend Justin and his beautiful bride Lisa both looked great. There were a bunch of my old college friends there too. My brother Gid and his fiance Julia were present as well. It was a joyful time for all of us.
I stayed two nights in the home of a Taiwanese man and his wife. The man's name is Augustine. It is interesting because I am reminded that Mike Bickle was in St. Louis when a prophet named Augustine came to him and prophesied to him. Well, I didn't receive any prophecy from this Augustine, but good hospitality. Don't know if this means anything particular in our Lord's eye.

Birthdays!

Last night, at Ryan and Becky's MorningStar homegroup, we had a surprise birthday party/celebration for Trina, Andrew's wife, which caught her completely off-guard. The cake was good! I gave a present of Arthur Burk's Baby Blessings "Joy" and "Peace," since she is pregnant right now.
Today is Hope's birthday. We are having a birthday breakfast for her tomorrow morning at 8 am, since she's busy today and working night shift.
Let blessings rain down on these birthday ladies!

Flying to St. Louis instead of driving

I got a call from my aunt from Tennessee today recommending that I check the plane ticket prices again to see if I can fly to St. Louis instead of driving out there (since the gas prices are so high). She even offered to chip in financially for part of the plane ticket. So I went on the web, and sure enough, the tickets this time are much cheaper than when I checked last month! So I booked it on the spot and will be flying out there on Saturday for my friend Justin's wedding. Thank you aunt! And thank You Lord!

Moving on, the other day, I was eating a nice, delicious meal at SouperSalad (sort of like Fresh Choice and Souplantation), when I noticed the name of my server, which was Svetlana. It was a Russian name, and she looked Russian. So I asked her where she was from.
"Russia." She answered.
"That's cool, I've been to Russia. St. Petersburg." I replied.
Sveta brightened up a bit, but was still quite shy.
"How long have you been in America?" I asked.
"One and a half month."
"Only? Your English is very good."
"Thanks."
And she walked away.
I guess she is still in her shell a bit, since it's only a very short time since she made the transition to an American society. I feel for her, since I was an immigrant once myself, and I didn't really talk to people in English for over a year after I got here.
If she only knew how much her Father in heaven loved her, I thought. She is a special one.
I have been praying for her.

Abortion rights group pulls misleading TV ads

An abortion-rights group has pulled a television ad against Supreme Court nominee John Roberts off the air as people realized that it was totally misleading and false in its representation of Roberts. Angels in first place!

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, a major league baseball team in Southern California, is my favorite baseball team. Obviously a team named the Angels is prophetic in some ways. I've been following the team since my high school days in LA, and they've always been a team with good guys (nobody that gets in trouble with the law or illegal drugs). Last night they beat the Oakland Athletics for sole possession of first place in the West Division of the American League. I hope that they will maintain their lead for the rest of the season. You can click on the title link to access their website.
I remember going to an Angels game at an youth, and I also been to several Oakland A's games in college. The A's had a special every Wednesday night home game. They offered seats for $1, and hot dogs for $1, but you would have to pay $10 for the parking. I enjoy watching live baseball, it's much better than watching on TV. I like the friendly, relaxing atmosphere of the ballparks. The best ballpark is probably the Giants' stadium in San Francisco, where it is right by the bay waters, and a home run might go into the sea. The park is very compacted, so you pretty much get a good view from every seat, but there is very little foul territory, so the games usually last longer than the norm (less balls get caught in foul territory as they land in the stands).

On another note, I am probably not going to be attending the One Thing conference after all, since my friend Gabe has dropped out from going. Anyways, I get to save on gas and rest a bit more at home.

Car is back!

Today I finally got my car back from the auto shop in Durham. Praise the Lord! It has been a long process but I am glad that it is over now. Please pray for me that the car will run smoothly from now on, and won't break down at all. Also, I am thinking about getting a new car (new or used). I am praying about that too.

to read the open letter by Paul Hattaway. We need to understand the truth and not believe in the false rumors and attacks that are circulating around. Please pray for Brother Yun and pray that the Body of Christ worldwide would realize the truth and not be duped by the lies of the enemy.

Evangel Worship Center

Click on the title link above to access the website of this church up in Concord, NC. I've never been to a service of this church, but I have been in their church building numerous times, as the Fire school and church share their facility and have meetings there every week. So I thought, this church must be a pretty good church to allow the Fire School to use their building, and to form a partnership with them.
On another note, last night was MorningStar's first Friday night service since June (as they take the month of July off). The place was packed. I had the privilege of meeting some chinese older women from the Midwest and direct them to the church. We didn't get a chance to talk much since I had to leave early. I hope they had a good time there.

What's new!
You can check out www.yousendit.com , it's a service that lets you send large files to people's email (up to 1 GB). Also check out www.ourmedia.com , which lets you store files online for free. And I've added a link to Lydia Fellowship under the new section "Love & Women" on your bottom right, they have a great webpage where it lists the names of every world leader for us to pray for. Lastly, I've updated the PrayStation, ResourCentral, and Worship pages. Go there to view the new postings.

5-string Electric violin

I had a chance to visit an electric violin shop today! It is in Durham, NC on Hwy 55 off I-40. It is a great little shop (one of its kind), and they have a very good selection of electric string instruments (including viola, cello, and upright bass). I was able to demo some very cool 5-string electric violins (ones that have the extra lower C string that is found on a viola, so the 5-stringer is basically a violin-viola hybrid). These new violins sound gorgeous! I am praying that the Lord would let me get one (and provide the money for it). They have a black Zeta that goes for over $1,500. It plays much better than my current 4-string Zeta. I can trade in my old one for several hundred bucks to help alleviate the cost a bit, but I would still need about $1,000. Once you played a 5-stringer, you are ruined, sort of like when you first encounter the Holy Spirit (not quite). It's hard to go back once you've tasted the "promise land." It's amazing what one more string can do. Anyways, you can check out their website by clicking on the title link above.
On another note, my car is still in the shop and won't be done until tomorrow (I hope). This saga is dragging along, and I know there is a spiritual lesson/test in this. Pray for me that I pass this test/trial. Thanks!

On another note, I have been following the American baseball steroid scandal a little bit. It is interesting how players are now being caught for using illegal substances. It reminds me of the scripture "for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known." Matthew 10:25-27

Car update: not done yet, but going home

This morning I found out that they are having trouble getting the transmission part in to the shop, so the earliest they can be finished fixing the car will be Wednesday afternoon. The good news is that my uncle James is letting me borrow one of their car to drive down to Charlotte this evening. Praise the Lord! This will make things a lot easier for me. Thank you Jesus! This way I can make it down to Charlotte tonight for Harp and Bowl, and make it to my prayer class Wednesday night.
I'll just drive their car back up when I find out the car is fixed.
On another note, please pray for my brother Gideon, as he is currently taking the GMAT test in China right now. Pray that he would do well and get a good score. Amen!

Finally, I've added three new teaching handouts at the ResourCentral Page. They are handouts that I used with the youth on the Vancouver retreat. Furthermore, I've added new links to the Worship Page and PrayStation Page also. Be sure to check out all of these new additions to "The Light Amp!"

Shooting for Tuesday afternoon

I just called the auto shop this morning, and they said that the transmission should be coming in later this afternoon, and it will take until tomorrow afternoon before they get finished working on it. I am praying that everything would proceed speedily and efficiently without delay. Amen!
I am waiting to go back home to Charlotte, though it has been a very fruitful time up here in Chapel Hill. I got to go to my friend Caroline's birthday party on Saturday and pray for her (I didn't even know about her birthday when I came up), and I got to talk with Matt, the new youth ministry director for CCMC, about planning a youth retreat again this fall. Very productive in the Lord, indeed! Praise God!
